SA Security Agent (Bodyguard)

The SA Security Agent (Bodyguard) course delivers the Certificate III in Close Protection Operations (CPP31418) — the qualification required for the Bodyguarding (Employee) endorsement on a South Australian Security Agent Licence, administered by Consumer and Business Services (CBS).

This course is designed for licensed security professionals who want to specialise in protecting high-profile individuals, corporate executives, VIPs, and government officials. You will develop advanced skills in threat assessment, tactical movement, close protection planning, and emergency response.

Training is delivered face-to-face by experienced instructors with backgrounds in law enforcement, military, and private security.

Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the Certificate III in Close Protection Operations (CPP31418).

Prerequisites:

- Must hold an existing SA Security Agent Licence with General Guarding endorsement

- Must hold a current HLTAID014 Advanced First Aid certificate

Age: Minimum 18 years of age.

Criminal History: No disqualifying criminal history.

Physical Fitness: Reasonable physical fitness required for practical exercises and defensive technique scenarios.

Technology: Computer with internet access.

English Language: Strong English language, literacy, and numeracy skills.

International Students: Not open to international students (student visa 500).

- CPPSEC3103 — Determine and implement response to security risk situation

- CPPSEC3105 — Coordinate provision of quality security services to clients

- CPPSEC3121 — Control persons using empty hand techniques

- CPPSEC3122 — Plan provision of close protection services

- CPPSEC3123 — Implement close protection services

- HLTAID014 — Provide advanced first aid

- HLTWHS003 — Maintain work health and safety

Elective Units:

- BSBFLM312 — Contribute to team effectiveness

- CHCCCS020 — Respond effectively to behaviours of concern

- CPPSEC3102 — Maintain operational safety and security of work environment

- CPPSEC3104 — Coordinate monitoring and control of individual and crowd behaviour

- CPPSEC3106 — Gather, organise and present security information and documentation

- CPPSEC3108 — Store, protect and dispose of security information

The Bodyguarding (Employee) endorsement in South Australia is administered by Consumer and Business Services (CBS).

To obtain the Bodyguarding endorsement you must:

1. Already hold an SA Security Agent Licence

2. Hold a current HLTAID014 Advanced First Aid certificate

3. Successfully complete this approved training (CPP31418)

4. Submit an application to CBS to add the Bodyguarding endorsement

5. Meet all CBS probity and suitability requirements

- Extension fee (full qual): $150 per month / $300 per 6 months

- Extension fee (single unit): $50 per month / $150 per 6 months

- Assessment resubmission: $50 per assessment after 2 attempts

- Re-enrolment within 3 months: 25%; within 4–12 months: 50%
