This intensive 15-day face-to-face course is designed for experienced security professionals seeking to specialise in executive protection and close personal security. Delivered by trainers with backgrounds in law enforcement and military, you will develop advanced skills in threat assessment, tactical movement, client assessment, and high-risk security operations.

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the Certificate III in Close Protection Operations (CPP31418), supporting your application for a WA Security Bodyguard's Licence (Unarmed).

Entry Requirements
Prerequisites:
- Must hold a current WA Security Officer Licence with Unarmed Guard and Crowd Control endorsed
- At least 12 months of security industry experience is strongly recommended
Age: Minimum 18 years of age.
Physical Fitness: Good physical fitness required for intensive 15-day practical training including defensive techniques and emergency scenarios.
Communication: Strong communication and situational awareness skills.
English: Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills.
International Students: Not open to international students (student visa 500).

8 core units + 6 elective units:

- CPPSEC3101 — Manage conflict and security risks using negotiation
- CPPSEC3103 — Determine and implement response to security risk situation
- CPPSEC3105 — Coordinate provision of quality security services to clients
- CPPSEC3121 — Control persons using empty hand techniques
- CPPSEC3122 — Plan provision of close protection services
- CPPSEC3123 — Implement close protection services
- HLTAID014 — Provide advanced first aid
- HLTWHS003 — Maintain work health and safety
Elective Units:
- BSBFLM312 — Contribute to team effectiveness
- CHCCCS020 — Respond effectively to behaviours of concern
- CPPSEC3102 — Maintain operational safety and security of work environment
- CPPSEC3104 — Coordinate monitoring and control of individual and crowd behaviour
- CPPSEC3106 — Gather, organise and present security information and documentation
- CPPSEC3108 — Store, protect and dispose of security information
Licensing Requirements
WA Bodyguard licensing is administered by WA Police Licensing Services – Security Licensing Branch.
To apply for a WA Security Bodyguard's Licence (Unarmed) you must:
1. Hold a current WA Security Officer Licence (with relevant endorsements)
2. Successfully complete this approved training (CPP31418)
3. Submit a completed application form
4. Provide a training certificate (Statement of Attainment)
5. Provide proof of identity and a recent passport-quality photo
6. Pay the applicable licence fee
7. Pass criminal history check and assessment of fitness and propriety
Additional Fees:
- Extension fee (full qual): $150 per month / $300 per 6 months
- Extension fee (single unit): $50 per month / $150 per 6 months
- Assessment resubmission: $50 per assessment after 2 attempts
- Re-enrolment within 3 months: 25%; within 4–12 months: 50%
