Course Overview
A specialised security training program designed for licensed NSW security officers seeking to expand their qualifications to include cash-in-transit duties. These duties involve the secure transportation of cash and valuables, often under high-risk conditions, and may include both armed and unarmed operations depending on the licensee's endorsements.
The NSW Class 1C subclass commenced 1 June 2023 and is administered by SLED (Security Licensing and Enforcement Directorate).
This course delivers a Statement of Attainment for 3 units of the CPPSS00061 Cash-in-Transit Skill Set, which may also provide credit towards CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations.
Note: You must already hold a NSW Class 1A Security Officer and Crowd Controller licence before enrolling.
Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for:
- CPPSEC3118 — Inspect and test cash-in-transit security equipment & rectify faults
- CPPSEC3119 — Implement cash-in-transit security procedures
- CPPSEC3120 — Load and unload cash-in-transit in secured and unsecured environments
This training supports your application for the NSW Class 1C Cash-in-Transit licence subclass through SLED.
These units may provide credit towards CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations.

Entry Requirements
Prerequisites:
- Must currently hold a NSW Class 1A Security Officer and Crowd Controller licence
- Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent Australian resident, hold a visa sponsored by a Master licence holder, or hold a visa for a skilled occupation corresponding to the licence subclass
Mandatory Pre-Enrolment: Students must complete a SLED LLN (Language, Literacy, Numeracy) assessment prior to enrolment.
RPL Note: RPL is not available for NSW security licence courses. An Assessment Only Pathway (AOP) may be available at the standard course fee ($750).
Units of Competency
This course delivers 3 nationally recognised units from the CPPSS00061 Cash-in-Transit Skill Set:
- CPPSEC3118 — Inspect and test cash-in-transit security equipment & rectify faults
- CPPSEC3119 — Implement cash-in-transit security procedures
- CPPSEC3120 — Load and unload cash-in-transit in secured and unsecured environments
A Statement of Attainment is issued upon successful completion. These units may provide direct credit towards CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations.
Licensing Requirements
The NSW Class 1C subclass authorises holders to patrol, protect or guard cash-in-transit. Licensing is administered by SLED.
To add the Class 1C subclass to your NSW licence you must:
1. Currently hold a Class 1A licence
2. Complete this SLED-approved training
3. Submit an application to SLED to add the 1C subclass
4. Meet all SLED probity and eligibility requirements
RPL is not available for NSW security licence courses. AOP is available at the standard course fee.
Note: Firearms training is not included. To perform armed CIT duties, the Class 1F Armed Guard subclass is also required.
Course Fees & Delivery
Standard Fee: $750
Assessment Only Pathway (AOP): $750 (same fee)
Bundle Deal: Complete both Class 1C Cash-in-Transit and Class 1F Armed Guard for $1,250 (saving $250 off the normal combined price of $1,500).
Delivery: 2 days face-to-face in class plus access to online resources. Training is conducted through practical scenarios, role plays and group discussions.
