The CPP41519 Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis is the key qualification for those seeking to become a licensed Class 2A Security Consultant in New South Wales. Holding a Class 2A licence authorises you to assess and advise clients on their security needs, design security systems, and develop risk management strategies for a wide range of sectors including corporate, retail, critical infrastructure, and government.
This course is designed for individuals who are working toward or currently performing a consulting role in the security industry, either independently or as part of an organisation.
Note: NSW licensing requires a minimum of 5 years continuous relevant security industry experience to be eligible for a Class 2A licence. This course provides the training component — you must also meet the SLED experience requirements.

Upon successful completion, graduates receive the CPP41519 Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis — the nationally recognised qualification for NSW Class 2A licensing.

Entry Requirements
No formal prerequisite units are required for this course, however:
NSW Licensing Requirement: To be eligible for a Class 2A licence, you must demonstrate to the Commissioner's satisfaction that you have held a Class 1 or Class 2 security licence continuously for a minimum of 5 years, or been employed managing security activities for a minimum of 5 years.
Citizenship/Visa: Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent Australian resident, hold a visa sponsored by a Master licence holder, or hold a visa for a skilled occupation corresponding to the licence subclass.
LLND: Intermediate English language, literacy and numeracy skills required. An Online LLN Assessment must be completed before commencing enrolment.
Technology: Access to a computer with internet connection, word processing software and PDF reader required. Some learning material cannot be printed or downloaded.
International Students: This course is not open to international students (student visa 500).
Units of Competency
12 units total (5 core + 7 elective).

Licensing Requirements
Security licensing in NSW is administered by SLED. To obtain a Class 2A licence you must demonstrate to the Commissioner of Police's satisfaction one of:
- Held a Class 1 and/or Class 2 security licence continuously for minimum 5 years, OR
- Been recorded as a nominated person for Master security licensees continuously for minimum 5 years, OR
- Been employed by Master security licensees to manage security activities continuously for minimum 5 years, OR
- Carried on Class 2A licence activities in another jurisdiction or as an exempt person for minimum 5 years
Continuous experience is not broken by gaps not exceeding 12 months. Written evidence is required with the application.
Completing this qualification satisfies the training component but does not guarantee a licence.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
